NR14 Global psychological pathology. Psychopathology – Your underlying problem is not biological but psychological – Psychoviruses.

(....) Saddam Hussein or George Bush, whom we regard as psychopaths. We have not built any mental barrier separating us from you as good from evil. We do admit, however, that we react with a certain aversion when we refer to your race on OUMMO. You suffer from a global psychological pathology that leads you to entrust the destiny of your planet to the leaders most inclined to lead it to disaster. I myself felt a certain displeasure on learning of my inclusion in the INNAYOUYISSAA (a social microgroup submissive to a superior) assigned to OYAGAA (your planet). My YIE (wife) confessed to me her wish to intercede on my behalf before the scientific council of OUMMO to change this assignment, and I needed to persuade her not to regard it as a shame or a humiliation but as a necessary sacrifice.

 

(....) You take pleasure in your torments, even provoking new sufferings when the situation seems to want to calm down. When will you rise up en masse against this permanent situation? When will the Brownian motion of the individuals of your social network be channelled by a global will oriented towards concrete evolutionary goals? The mobilization of the populations of your great nations in favour of peace before the opening of hostilities in Iraq did, however, exceed our forecasts. Although it was manifestly useless, there is still undoubtedly hope that your collective consciousness will be activated, even though everything is organized to anaesthetize it.

 

We do not, however, cast the first stone at you. The history of OUMMO also knew deplorable periods, for example during the despotic regimes of IEE 456, daughter of NAA 312, and later of WIE 1, daughter of OOWA 3 and of IEE 456. The reform of our social network that followed was long and hard, and it is a period of our history that we do not hide at all but of which we are deeply ashamed.

 

One of your sisters from Kingscote in Australia, after studying the book by the American sociologist Ruth Benedict, one day pointed out to us the similarities between our society of OUMMO and that of Japan. In both cases society is founded on the social group and not focused on the individual as in your Western societies. On OUMMO as in Japan, compliance with the rules is obtained through the heightening of the feeling of shame, induced in our case by the disapproval expressed against them by the whole social network when they stray too far from the behavioural patterns we take as models. For your Australian sister, OUMMO, like Japan, is a culture of shame, while the other societies of OYAGAA rest mainly on the antithetical model, which seeks to provoke remorse and the feeling of guilt when the prohibitions imposed are transgressed. Although this parallel is somewhat simplistic, we must admit its pertinence.

 

Thus our punishment consisting in exposing naked in public the individual who has contravened our OUAA (moral laws) does indeed aim to provoke a feeling of shame in that individual, as well as in all the brothers who are strongly urged to contemplate this spectacle, painful in our eyes. We therefore abide by the OUAA so as not to have to undergo this humiliating punishment. You too bring into play, in your courts, public trials adorned with rhetorical effects and with the now outdated ornaments and pomp of your magistrates. The aim of those trials is in this case to provoke the feeling of guilt in order to obtain the repentance of the accused and to justify the deprivation of liberty and the payment of a financial penalty that serves to pay for the repressive state services that dictate your prohibitions and that, in the end, feed back on the very problems of the social network they ought to regulate.

 

We have already heard the arguments of your brothers who judge this public exposure of our nakedness morbid. These arguments are anthropocentric and do not take into account the particular functioning of our psychology and the fact that a very strong reflex of modesty is instilled in us from childhood, which comes to produce intense physiological discomfort when we must undress in front of other brothers, particularly of the opposite sex, uncovering our erogenous zones before them. I give you as an example the case of one of our sisters who, annoyed by the submission of an Earth woman to her husband, made an extremely offensive remark to her that made her cry. Her superior conceived the plan of subjecting her to an exemplary punishment by exposing her nakedness not only to all our expeditionaries then present on Earth, but even to certain of your brothers and sisters in Adelaide with whom we were collaborating closely. While awaiting the sentence, this YIE suddenly entered a catatonic state at the mere idea of finding herself naked in front of Earthlings. Only the intervention of another brother made it possible to reduce the sentence so that it involved only the expeditionaries of OUMMO, with the logical argument that it would ultimately end up giving your brothers unwanted revealing clues about our external physiological peculiarities.

Do not expect from us any intervention to modify the genome of your race, by whatever means. Your underlying problem is not biological but psychological. The reform must indeed come through the education of the young, radically separated from the harmful influence of:

 

• Their own parents
• The social environment that encourages them to adopt deviant behaviours such as smoking, alcoholism, violence, drug use, the practice of a morbid eroticism and of an uncontrolled and mistaken sexuality.
• The information media that contaminate their still intact capacity for objective analysis.

 

You accept without opposition the existence of viruses or other pathogenic micro-organisms, against which you seek remedies adapted to each. Know that these bioviruses also have their psychological equivalent, more subtle. Just as you have been able to transfer these concepts of virus/vaccine to the level of your computers, can you not equally conceive of the existence of idea-viruses that irremediably alter your psychological functioning? These psychoviruses are for the most part instilled from childhood by the parents themselves, who try as best they can to evade the many naive questions of their children with ready-made answers or answers invented on the inspiration of the moment. The educational system and the media complete this process, which ends up weakening the critical discernment of your young people so as to make them conform to the erroneous ideologies uttered by your political, economic and religious authorities. The existence of differences, sometimes fundamental, between the ideologies of the various nations of your planet inevitably entails xenophobic tensions between individuals, owing solely to their inability to accept their differences and to modulate their behaviour accordingly. These psychological viruses manage, through an insinuating learning process, to modify synaptic structures physiologically, creating and consolidating thalamic and hypothalamic neuronal connections as well as at the level of certain key areas, in particular the amygdala, the nucleus accumbens, the aqueduct of Sylvius, the septum and the hippocampus. All this slowly conditions the individual to behave predictably in the face of stimuli that call into question his feeling of security, his intimate convictions and the prejudices inculcated, through a mechanism we could define as psychological homeostasis. Money, religion and nationalist pride are undoubtedly the main levers your leaders use against you.
